Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The scriptural recommended pathways to spiritual growth is:

1). To press for direct encounters with God and through His Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit

2). To follow carefully and learn from those who have gone ahead, either historically or currently alive.

If you walk with God properly, at the end of your life, it should be safe to call God, your God. E.g. The God of Abraham.

Psalm 24:3-6 (KJV)
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Romans 15:4 (KJV)
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Genesis 5:22 (KJV)
And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

The Four (4) Indices to Measure Genuine Love:

1). Passion
2). Pleasure
3). Commitment
4). Sacrifice

The highest biblical index to measure love is sacrifice.

Walking with God demands TOTAL SURRENDER.
When you begin to walk with God, the first thing he does is to bring you through His Word and Spirit to dethrone every idol.

Until we get to the point in our lives where the will of God becomes greater than our desires, there are certain levels of intimacy with God we cannot attain.

The absence of passion is often characterised by the emergence of excuses; Everytime the pursuit of God becomes an inconvenience or a burden, something else has taken His place.

You will always create time for what you love because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
When you get to a point where you can give your all or only, then you truly love God.

Psalm 63:1-3 (KJV)
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

If you fail in everything in life, and did not fail in loving Jesus, you did not fail.

2. What does it mean and what does it take to please God?

By becoming His witness. (John 1:6-7; John 4:35; Daniel 12:3)

The testimony of Enoch was not only in the accuracy of His prophecies, but a life characterised by utilizing the time and resources given to him to shine God’s light.

Nothing in itself profits you until it is connected to you being a witness and at the same time connected to kingdom agenda.

You don’t have to be behind a pulpit to become a witness; saying and declaring “I am a witness” means “I am a validator of the claims of God”.

Enoch pleased God by becoming a beacon of light that drew his generation to God.
You must spend your life making an active contribution of your time and resources towards seeing Jesus glorified and Jesus revealed.

The noblest testimony anyone can have is the testimony Enoch: that He pleased God. (Hebrews 11:5)
