The Covenant of Revivial by Pastor Isaac Oyedepo

Watch The Message

What is a Revival?

  1. A Revival is a move of the spirit of God among all age groups leading to the release of his sound, wind, and fire. Joel 2:28-30, Acts 2:1-4 NKJV. All Generations will be impacted – The “Now” and “Next” Generations alike. It is not a revival if it lacks the sound. The Ancient Mantles for Current Vessels will come upon people. Like it came upon John from Elijah, From Elijah to Elisha, and From Moses to Joshua.
    1. The Sound John 4:24 NKJV/Ephesians 5:19 NKJV
    2. The Wind Acts 13:44 NKJV/ Numbers 11:31 NKJV
    3. The Fire Zech. 3:2 NKJV/ Jeremiah 20:9 NKJV
  2. A Revival is “The Mass Glorification of Jesus Christ” (Martyn Lloyd-Jones) that projects him as King leading to the colossal spread of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Acts 19:8-20 NKJV. We have left the days of fliers and stepped into the days of fire. If Jesus is not the center of it all, it is not a revival.
  3. A Revival is the “Restoration of the Fear of the Lord” among his people and the fear of his people among the heathen. Acts 2:37 NKJV/Acts 5:1-11 NKJV. The World needs salvation, the church needs revival. The people of the inside must be changed in order for the word to flow. It is an exchange, the fear of the Lord entering the Church and the fear of the church entering the world that is a revival. utmost respect is a place God can reside in. 2 Timothy 2:19-21 NKJV
  4. A Revival is the “work of The Spirit of God” in the midst of his people leading to an outbreak of healings, creative miracles, signs, and wonders. Habakkuk 1:5 NKJV, Isaiah 8:18 NKJV, Acts 3:1-5 NKJV, Acts 4:29-33 KJV, Acts 5:11 KJV.
    1.  The Urgent need of the church today is REVIVAL – Revelations 3:14-19
    2. The Urgent Need of the saint today is REVIVALPsalms 85:6 / Ephesians 5:14 / Zech. 3:2
    3. The Urgent need of the “Now” and “Next” generation is REVIVAL – Habakkuk 1:5, Joel 2:28-3,  Isaiah 44:3-5 NKJV. The word gives us the promise, history gives us the pathway, but the prophecy of the last day church gives us the picture. Jeremiah 6:16 NKJV. This means revival is a covenant.

We need Jesus too not just the world. We are too familiar with him. Rain is normal when there is a revival. God’s part and my part.

Covenant Requirements for Revival (2 Chronicle 7:14 NKJV)

They have a theological experience of God but lack the practical experience of God.

  1. Humility. If my people will humble themselves and pray. Only a few think they need Revival, so many are never candidates for Revival. Refusal to pray is pride. Gwen Shaw Said:
    1. We need true humility that comes from seeing ourselves as God sees us. The problem with the Laodicean church was that they were wretched and miserable, poor, blind, and naked and they didn’t realize it.
  2. Prayer. All great revivals are products of prayer. God told pastor Isaac “If prayer is sustained, prayer will eventually prevail”. Group prayer is fine but personal prayer is important. Your personal prayer time with God. The church prayers program doesn’t equal your personal prayers! If you need time to prepare, that means you are not preparing all the time. George Herbert – “Prayer – The Soul’s Blood”. Prayer that comes with sweat, blood, and tears. Revival is a product of a process. The smoke of light does not equal the smoke of his presence.
    1. Evan Roberts (Welsh Revival) – Prayer is the secret of power
    2. Leonard Ravenhill – No man is greater than his prayer life.
    3. George Herbert – Prayer should be the key of the day and lock of the night
  3. Hunger. Hunger is expressed by seeking the face of God. Psalm 63:1-3 NKJV, Proverbs 18:17, Jeremiah 29:13. You can not hide under the umbrella of any man for your own fire. When hunger wires you, you will do things that are abnormal.
    1. John G. Lake – “The Greatest Gift I can give anyone is Hunger.”
  4. Repentance. To see a Revival, we must repent and forsake our sins. Turn from their wicked ways.John Bevere points out that everyone has 3 images 2 Corinthians 5:10
    1. Perceived Image: The way others see us
    2. Projected Image: The way we want others to see us
    3. Actual Image: The way we really are. This image is the image that would be judged on the last day.
  5. Expectation. It takes expectation to go through the first four covenants of revival. Proverbs 10:24, Proverbs 23:17 KJV.
