Man’s standard is not God’s standard

Man's standard is not God's standard

The standard we have as humans are not the same standard God has. If we were to look at people in the Bible that God used, if we use human standards, they will never meet our standards.

I will be sharing stories of 3 men in the Bible God used that men would have ignored because of mistakes they made.

King David (A Man After God’s Own Heart. Acts 13:22 KJV)

If you know the story about King David, he was anointed by Prophet Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:13 KJV to be king. He had to wait 15 years before he became king.
He did all that was pleasant in God’s eyes but he did evil in the Lord’s eyes by committing adultery with Bathsheba 2 Samuel 11:4 KJV, she got pregnant 2 Samuel 11:5 KJV. Instead of taking responsibility for what he did, King Samuel had Bathsheba’s husband come back home from war and lay with his wife, he refused to lay with his wife, and King David committed Murder because he sent him back to war and was killed in the war because he refused to lay with his wife 2 Samuel 11:6-17 KJV.

In 2 Samuel 12:1-25 KJV, King David was repentant, and God had mercy on him.  King Samuel and Bathsheba went on to have King Solomon who is still the wealthiest person to ever exist.

If a Man was to judge King David, he would have lost his throne and lost everything in a moment because Human do not tend to give second chances when someone does wrong.

Even though what King David did was wrong, God still called him a man after his own heart because King David got to know a dimension of God that most people have not gotten to know.

Abraham (A Friend of God. James 2:23 KJV)

If you know the story of Abraham, he had to wait for 25 years to have a child. God promised him that he would be the father of man and nations (Genesis 17:4 KJV) at the age 0f 75 years but Isaac did not come until Abraham was 100 years old (Genesis 21:5 KJV).

But during this period of waiting, Abraham lied twice and said his wife Sarah was his sister because he was scared he would be killed if they found out that Sarah was his wife (Genesis 12:11-13 KJV, Genesis 20:2 KJV).

We know as Christians, that God does not want us to lie (Leviticus 19:11), and here are situations where Abraham lied twice, and even because God is a just God he forgave him and even fought for him (Genesis 12:17-20 KJV, Genesis 20:3-18 KJV).

If Man were to judge Abraham, we would never forgive him for lying talkless of calling him a friend.

From Saul (Persecutor of Christians) To Apostle Paul (A Slave of Jesus Christ Romans 1:1 KJV)

Saul who became Apostle Paul was known to persecute Christians (Acts 9:1-3 KJV). He even was in full agreement with Stephen’s Murder (Acts 8:1 KJV). It was not until he had an encounter with Jesus Christ that he became a slave for Jesus Christ and to share the Good News (Acts 9:3-43 KJV). Even losing his life for Christ’s sake.

Who would have thought that someone who persecuted Christians would now become the one who shares the gospel with everyone even writing 2/3 of the New Testament?

If Man were to judge Apostle Paul, he wouldn’t have been forgiven talkless of being brought into the fold to share communion with them.

How could you forgive someone who tried to kill you for your faith?

That is why we are not God. Man looks at what they see to judge, God sees the hearts and judges based on the heart condition and not the physical eyes like Man does. A mistake almost Prophet Samuel made when he wanted to anoint Eliab to become king (1 Samuel 16:6 KJV) because he was looking through the physical sense and not the spiritual sense (1 Samuel 16:7 KJV)

We are humans and we tend to make mistakes that is why God who is merciful forgives us when we come with sincere hearts and ask for Forgiveness. In Psalm 103:1-5 KJV:
God forgives, God Heals, God Redeems, God Satisifes, and God Crowns.
