Humble People in The Bible (What truly is Humility?)

Humble People in The Bible

Humility

  1. Give all the Glory to God
  2. Letting God fight for you As God fought for Moses against Miriam and Aaron

Humble People in The Bible

  1. Jesus Christ

He came for the sinners and not the saved ones. That’s why the Pharisees and Sadducees looked at him like are you really the son of God? They didn’t think a son of God is supposed to mix with sinners but the saved ones. Even when he spoke to the lady at the well. John 4:4-42 KJV

Jesus had 2 chances to back out:

      1. The first time was when God said who will go for us, Jesus could have said no. John 6:38-40 KJV, Isaiah 6:8-13 KJV
      2. The second time, when he said if it is possible let this cup pass over me but he remembered that our relationship with our Father will remain damaged and satan would have won. Then he said not my will, let thee will be done. Matthew 26:39, 42, 44.  Philippians 2:1-10 KJV.
  2. Moses

    1. The Israelites were against Moses so many times that he had to chance to say things to them that would have happened immediately, but he keep his cool. Even when God wanted to destroy the Israelites it was Moses that pleaded on their behalf.
    2. His siblings (Miriam and Aaron) chastised him in front of the Israelites and Moses didn’t defend himself but guess what God fought for him and Miriam had a skin disease (leprous) Numbers 12:1-10 KJV. The same Moses went to God to please forgive Miriam (Numbers 12:13-16 KJV)
  3. Abigail

When her husband Nabal almost got her and their household killed due to his Pride and Arrogance toward King David’s request. King David was on the way to kill them alongside his soldiers, Abigail found out and with humility and humbleness pleaded with King David, and their lives were spared. After her husband passed, King David married Abigail. 1 Samuel 25: KJV.

  4. Ruth

Even after losing her husband, losing her brother-in-law, and her father-in-law, you will think that she will abandon Ruth and go back to her people. Her Sister-in-law Orpah went back to her people. But Ruth in her humble state said she was ready to go with Naomi to were ever she will go and Naomi’s God will be her God. Ruth 1:1-18 KJV. She continues to honor Ruth, she found herself in Boaz’s field (Ruth 2 KJV) and the rest is history. At the end of it all, Ruth got married to Boaz. Ruth 4 KJV. She became the Great-Grandmother to King David. From her lineage, Jesus Christ came to the earth.
