Foundational Truths For Every Believer

1. As believers, we are called to live a life of victory. (1 Corinthians 15:57, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, John 10:10, John 3:16-17, Ephesians 4:18)
2. The basis for the believer’s victory in the Kingdom, is the finished work of Jesus Christ.
3. The Bible clearly states that believers will experience affliction, losses, pains, and challenges in life. (Psalm 20:1-5)
“Good understanding giveth favor: But the way of transgressors is hard.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13:15‬ ‭(KJV)‬‬
When principles are violated, the predicted end result can be found in the Scriptures.
However, when believers experience afflictions, even after standing for integrity, rejecting compromise, and serving the purposes of the Kingdom, there’s a biblical explanation and perspective for this.
Exodus 1:8-14, Job 1:1-6; 13-20, Ruth 1:1-5-8, Acts 12:1-5, John 16:33, Hebrews 12:2, Number 21:1-5, Psalm 123:2

Five Biblical Keys for the Believer’s Victorious Living in the Face of Affliction:

1. Look Unto Jesus. (Psalm 34:1-10)  Look To Jesus Song by Gloria Muliro
What does it mean to look?
“To look” means to direct one’s gaze away from and toward someone or something.
It also denotes relying on and depending entirely on God, even in moments of incomprehension.
Looking unto Jesus may seem simple, but can be difficult to do.
Trusting God’s plan and His ways brings life and dominion. Although God’s ways may not always make sense, they hold the key to life.
Scriptures that emphasize the importance of Believers Looking Unto Jesus:
1. Psalm 127:1-2
2. Romans 9:16
3. Psalm 62:11
4. Psalm 112:1-9
Psalm 20:7, Psalm 113:1-9, Matthew 11:3;6
When God is silent, it is important to understand what His silence depicts. In His silence, lies a message.
The believer’s faith is not based on results, but rather on their unwavering commitment to trust in Jesus.
There will be moments in life when you can’t find answers to your challenges. In those moments, it is important to look unto Jesus and wait on Him.
2. Commit to prayer even amidst pain, affliction, despair, or hopelessness.
(James 5:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
In the midst of difficult situations, your spirituality is tested. When you do not know what to do or don’t understand what is happening, pray!
It is in the place of prayer that direction and answers come.
It may not be easy to pray, but when you pray, strength is supplied to you.
“Pray without ceasing.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)
Prayer has no correlation with appetite; rather, it is a necessary obligation. It is imperative that you engage in prayer.
3. Meditate upon and speak The Word over that situation. (Joel 3:10, Isaiah 3:10, Psalm 107:2)
When you lose all forms of strength, there will always be enough strength to “say”. Speak The Word to situations and challenges around you.
Pray: In the name of Jesus, I decree and declare that it is well with me.
When emotions take the wheel of your Christian journey, it leads to a disastrous outcome.
No matter the obstacles you encounter, it is crucial to speak The Word of God concerning your circumstances.
Every situation possesses the ability to perceive and comprehend the voice of God.
4. Seek comfort, prayer, and help from godly friends and the family of Believers. (Acts 4:21-24, 1 Thessalonians 5:25, Phillippians 1:19)
Living an isolated Christian life will not benefit you during times of adversity.
The evidence of your connection to a spiritual family goes beyond mere attendance; it is demonstrated through service and active involvement within the family.
Your involvement can entail nurturing strategic relationships by sowing seeds of kindness, love, commitment, and care among fellow believers.
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)
You know that you are an active contributor to the Kingdom of God when people can detect your absence.
As a believer, beyond attending church, be genuinely connected in truth and contribute to making an impact in God’s Kingdom.
