- We receive from God as a gift
- We receive from God as a reward
What does it mean to reward?
To reward means to give someone something in recognition of service, in recognition of effort, in recognition for contribution.
Examples of rewards in the Bible
- David asked for the rewards that would be received for killing Goliath (1 Samuel 17:24-27 KJV)
- The disciples ask Jesus about the reward they will get for following him (Matthew 19:27-30 KJV)
The reason that believers are not able to push through is because we are not aware that God is a rewarder.

It is not the reward that destroys, it is when the reward rises above your love for God.
What does God reward?
- God rewards diligent pursuit. God rewards diligence when you seek him diligently.
When you seek him and you seek his will diligently, God rewards it. Ecclesiastes 11:3 KJV, 1 Timothy 5:18 NIV
Diligence demands your energy, Diligence will cost you your time
Diligence in prayer and Diligence in the word of God

To be faithful means to remain consistent whether it is convenient or not.
To be faithful means to remain consistent whether they tell you thank you or not.
