The Evidence of Genuine Intimacy with God by Apostle Joshua Selman

The assignment of revelation is to sponsor transitions. When you access revelation in truth, it has the power to transition you from your current level to your prophetic destiny.
When God leads you, there’s a guarantee that you will become all He has destined you to be and arrive at a specific destination.
There is a level of aggression you must sustain to access all that God has destined for you.
Pray: Father, give me an encounter tonight by Your Spirit.

I declare, in the name of Jesus Christ, everything that is not of God in your life, it drops tonight!

Anchor Scripture: Luke 8:41-48 (KJV)
41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

1. To touch means to come in contact with.
2. To touch means to connect to.
3. To touch means to produce feelings of affection and empathy.

Men can touch God in a way that radically alters and transforms the course of their destinies for good.
Ordinary men (humans) can have a destiny-defining and life-altering encounter when they touch God.
Scripture records several men or women who had encounters with God, in various regards that birthed transformation in their lives.
For example; Paul the Apostle, Jacob, Abraham, Isaiah, David, Solomon, The Apostles, Thomas, Peter, etc.

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” Luke 8:45 (NIV)

Many Believers pray without an encounter, they lack the light and illumination that emanates from the Scriptures.
Just because many Believers are involved in ministry or spirituality, does not mean they’re touching God. Spiritual activities in themselves do not equate to an encounter with God.

There are many Believers with evident concurrent activities, but they lack the corresponding actions that attest to a transformed destiny.

There are clear, unmistakable evidences when men touch God. How to know a man has truly touched God:

1. The first proof that a man has truly touched God is reverence and honour for God.
The revelation of the true state of your heart leading to reverence for God is an evidence that you’ve had an encounter with God. (Luke 8:47, Isaiah 6:1-8)
When men touch God, it alters the state of their hearts. It is impossible to encounter God and remain the same, the version that met God will be different from the version that leaves His presence.

The first evidence that you’ve touched God is the revelation of the true state of your heart leading to reverence and honour for Him. (Luke 8:45-47 NIV, 2 Timothy 3:7)
The version that met God is never the version that leaves His presence.
You don’t have to fake anything to need the help of God. The purifying fire of God is for all men.
When men meet God, they die to the flesh. There’s a level of brokenness you need to touch God. (Psalm 51:17)

If you genuinely encounter the God of The Bible, you will love His presence more than reputation, ministry, or titles.
What happens when men meet God is a level of brokenness; they die to themselves. Psalm 51:17 (KJV).

When God stretches His hands and allows you touch Him; everything that is not of Him in your life becomes threatened, resulting in a pruning that rids you of the desires for titles and accolades.
When He reaches out to you, He wants to purify you.
Your service to God is meaningless, until the state of your heart is pure. Until God finds a genuine vessel, your service will be wanting.

When you truly encounter the God of the Bible, there is a form of pruning that must happen to you.
An encounter with God must bring you to a point where you are purified like gold, because your service to Him is meaningless until the state of your heart is pure.

2. Superior, proof-producing wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10)
According to Scripture, every wisdom that does not proceed from the fear of The Lord is a corrupted wisdom that leads to pride and self-righteousness.
When a man has touched God, there will be a display of wisdom beyond his age.
3. Liberty (Luke 8:43-48, 2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV, Matthew 11:28-30)
You know men that have touched God because they go to Him with burdens and walk away freely. When men touch God, everything that is not of God and by God must give way.

God can touch men, but men can also touch God!
Presence creates effects, if it’s true that you’ve truly touched and had an encounter with Him, your situations must change, evidently!

God’s presence creates effects. If you have genuinely touched God, there must be an effect of the touch in your life.

4. Genuine Power: You receive from God an unction that first transforms your life and then from you, transforms the nations. (Luke 8:46)
If you have an encounter with the God of the Bible, it results in genuine, authentic power that transforms.

Taking the Nations of the earth goes beyond having zeal, you must contend for power that only comes when you have genuinely touched God.

To receive from God, you do not remain quiet and expect an encounter, you make demands and cry out to His hearing. Like the story of blind Bartimaeus in Scriptures.
Your hunger is a seed for an encounter with God.

The true function of power is influencing changes in lives, compelling power and changing anomalies!
Pray: Lord, let Your power be evident in my life. I’m tired of powerlessness.

5. Peace (Luke 8:48, John 14:27, Philippians 4:7)
When men touch God, they encounter peace. You must learn to have the peace of God.
If you do not have peace, you can die of worry and sleeplessness.

Place your hands on your chest and declare:

Do not let the challenges that life throws at you to get the best of you.
Learn to find peace in the midst of storms. You’ll get through it.

1. An individual with a broken and contrite heart. (2 Corinthians 3:4-6, Psalm 51:17, Psalm 100:3)
A broken heart is a heart that is ever aware of its insufficiency outside the help and mercy of God.
A life of pride and boasting will alienate you from touching God.
2. An individual who perpetually acknowledges and honours God. (1 Samuel 2:30, Proverbs 3:5-6)
3. An individual who chooses (as an act of your will) to walk and live by faith. (Hebrews 11:6, Genesis 15:6)
To live by faith is to live in obedience to God’s Word and principles.
In obedience and simplicity of heart, you will produce extraordinary results.
4. A man with a genuine heart of gratitude. (Psalm 69:30-32).
5. An individual who is willing to not just receive but to be a blessing. (Luke 8:46-47, Genesis 12:3, 2 Corinthians 1:4).
– Efficient use produces an increase. When your life is not just about you, then you can touch God.
– An individual can touch God, using their victory stories to make many know, love, and serve Jesus. For His glory.

Pray: Mention at least 2 things God has done for you and genuinely thank Him.

God loves everybody but doesn’t treat everyone at the same level.
When your life no longer becomes about you, you’ve found the keys to touching Him.

One way to always touch the heart of God, is to always hide behind the cross and let men see Jesus.

The question: “Who Touched Me?” can either be a question of empathy or a question of judgement. (Matthew 21: 12-15).
The kind of man who can touch God in a way that leads to judgement is a man who perpetually tries to fight the advancement of God’s program (Exodus 5:1-3).

Pray: From today, my life is open for destiny-altering encounters.
