The imminent return of Jesus is one of the foundational pillars of the Christian faith.
Your Christian experience is not complete if you do not sustain this belief.
- There is a kind of Church and Bride that He is returning for. Ephesians 5:26-27.
- It is the assignment of the fivefold ministry to help build and mature the Body to be efficient even as we await Christ’s coming. Ephesians 4:11-16
The way that the lord purifies and matures his church is by a blend of commendation and correction. As a minister, contained in your strategy for building believers must be a template that helps the Body reflect the purified church. The Lord purifies and matures His church by commendation and correction; commending what is done well and right and correcting areas that require adjustment.
As a believer, it is pertinent to know that chastening from God is meant to profit you. (Revelations 2:1-11) Hebrews 12:5-11.
The way the Lord purifies and matures His church (the bride) is by a blend of commendation and correction. (Philippians 1:3-6) Ephesians 5:1, 1 Peter 2:21
The character of Jesus in dealing with the church is to commend appropriately and then correct; this provides a template for building and correction in the Body today.
Good mentorship that makes for maturity and stature must be a healthy blend of commendation and correction.
Worthy of Commendation for the church in Africa:
1). The compassion of the church (that has birthed several possibilities among believers).
2). Doctrine
3). Stamina and sacrifice of believers in standing for truth in the place of hardship and death.
4). The profound dimension of Kingdom influence that God has given His church across regions.
5). The tremendous display of spiritual power and the gift of the spirit that has been invested in the place of the spirit, within the body of Christ.
7 Deadly Sins that must be purged from the church
Identifying these deadly sins is an attempt to purify the church of Christ and present her as a worthy bride in preparation for the coming of Christ.
- Sexual Immorality and Related Perversions. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, Acts 15:28-29
Sexual immorality is predicated on certain facts:
The desire for intimacy is not demonic; the intrinsic desire for intimacy was input in humans by God. It is however a desire created to find expression within certain conditions and jurisdictions. It is the absence of the right conditions that make it sinful not the desire itself.
The nature of lust and immorality is that it capitalizes on the presence of the desire resident in men and perverts it for their destruction.
No man will ever outgrow the temptation for sexual intimacy. One who is ignorant and not equipped with Scripture and revelation will eventually become a victim.
Sexual immorality is not dependent on being good or evil, young or old, it’s about exploiting a provision put by God to destroy the victims.
No man will ever outgrow the temptations of immorality.
As long as you’re alive, Satan is bound to attack you through negative scenarios, capable of making you a victim.
Sexual immorality and related perversions includes; ungodly thoughts, lust, masturbation, pornography, etc.
Satan amplifies the intrinsic desire for intimacy in unmarried couples, to pervert the original intent as created by God.
5 Scriptural Steps to be free from sexual immorality and related perversions:
- You must admit Psalm 51:17
Brokenness is a necessary requirement to receive of the salvation of God in this wise.
When sexual immorality is introduced into a life, it brings the individual down spiritually and makes one susceptible to spiritual attacks. There is a strong relationship between the spirit of immorality and untimely death. - You must set aside time for a retreat. Pray, Fasting, and Genuine Repentance. Psalm 51: 1-19
- You must seek help from mature people.
As one who is being confided in, you must sustain the psychological knowledge and maturity to handle the confidential pain of people.
- Create rules and boundaries in and around your life. Proverbs 25:28
Sexual immorality is highly atmosphere-dependent.
- Connect to a larger family of believers. Community kingdom living is the key to sustaining kingdom values. Hebrews 10:25
As a Minister, it takes more than being anointed to help people; you must sustain psychological knowledge, maturity, and know how to handle people’s sensitive issues. When people open up their pain to you, it is a trust you must protect.
It’s not enough to repent before God, there are systems you must create to ensure your safety.
Sexual immorality is highly atmosphere-dependent – it takes certain factors to trigger it.
7 Deadly Sins that must be purged from the church
2. Lust for Money and Material Things. Philippians 3:17, Mark 8:36, 1Timothy 6:6-10
It is God’s desire to bless His people. Materialism is not the presence of material possessions. Materialism is a negative influence of materials upon your relationships.
The cure for the lust for money and materialism is to be properly mentored on the Kingdom’s pathway to wealth and abundance.
3. Sin of Witchcraft and Extra-Biblical Practices. Deuteronomy 18:9-13, Ezekiel 13:1-11, Acts of Apostle 16:16-18, Luke 2:52
In the Kingdom, it is not entirely all about results. The pathway to the results must be God-glorifying.
To be greatly used by God, you must sustain a track record of growth; there is no instant maturity in God’s Kingdom. (Acts 8:9-23 AMP)
Cure for Witchcraft and Extra-Biblical Practices
- Fear God. 2 Corinthians 4:1-2, Hebrews 12:28.
When you fear God sincerely, you’ll love His people too much to manipulate them.
4. Pride, Vain Glory, and Self-Centeredness James 4:6, Luke 18:9-14, Romans 12:1-6
Trust God to have the grace to control/ manage our pride, vainglory, and self-centeredness.
As a Minister, it is wrong to assume a position that makes you feel as though it’s all about you.
Get to a point of acknowledging that you’re only one among many people God is using for His agenda.
When God lifts you, your assignment is for you to lift Him, so that forever and always, it is Jesus revealed and Jesus glorified.
Cure for Pride, Vain Glory, and Self-Centeredness
John 3:23-30. The character of pride is that it downplays the contribution of others and desires that he stands out.
5. The Sin of the Tongue. lying, backbiting, sowing seeds of discord. Psalm 34:12-13, Proverbs 6:16-19
Cure for The Sin of the Tongue
Psalm 141:3-4, Ephesians 4:29. Let no corrupt communication proceed from your mouth, your words should be edifying to minister grace to the hearers
6. Competition and unhealthy comparison of men and competition. 2 Corinthians 10:12-18
The moment you downplay others and believe that your contribution supersedes every other person, you begin to walk in deception.
As believers, it is pertinent to cultivate a healthy respect for the contribution of other Ministers to the body of Christ.
It is deception to see one’s self as the only and major contributor. God has a robust army and many others are rising from His Kingdom for His purposes.
