The Mission of Jesus by Apostle Joshua Selman

Prayer: Jesus reveal yourself to me

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death Philippians 3:10 KJV

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3 KJV

The stability of your Christian experience depends on your accurate knowledge of Jesus.

If the dimension of the knowledge you have is greater than the knowledge of Jesus, you will still be limited in your work.

It is important we know who Jesus is as a person. Who is he? Matthew 16:15-17 KJV

Proximity does not automatically bring revelation.

The wisest way to know Jesus is to study what he said about himself.

  • The Son of God. Mark 1:1 KJV, John 20:30-31 KJV

The Bible calls him the light of the world.

  • Jesus called himself The Bread of Life. John 6:35 KJV

  • Jesus called himself The First and The Last. Revelation 1:17 KJV
  • Jesus called himself I am He That Liveth And Was Dead And Now Alive forever more. Amen. Revelation 1:18 KJV

Jesus came to the world for three principal assignments:

It is impossible to access the life of God if you do not have peace with God. John 3:16-17 KJV

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Matthew 9:37 KJV

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Matthew 23:37 KJV

John 4:4-42 KJV

Everyone is a product of God’s mercy and Grace never forget this. Psalm 51:5 KJV, Jeremiah 31:3 KJV

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33 KJV

The name of Jesus is heavy, it takes resources to lift it high

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:39 KJV

3. His Third Assignment on Earth. Jesus came as a pattern man, a model of God’s expectation for man. Hebrews 12:2 KJV, John 14:12 KJV, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 KJV.

In knowing and learning Jesus, You know who you are.

To do an effective evangelism, look at Jesus
