Our Daily Bread (The Mystery Of Sufficiency) by Apostle Selman
Lift up your voice and give God all the thanks. Let it be from the depths of your heart.
Present yourself again tonight for an encounter. A time of transformation, healing, restoration and deliverance.
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV)
Pray: Father, open my ears that I may hear, and open my eyes that I may see, in the name of Jesus Christ!
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Psalms 103:2-5 (KJV)
Pray: Father, these five benefits must speak in my life tonight, in the name of Jesus! Tonight, I forget not Your benefits; I place a demand upon them, that they speak evidently in my life. Satisfy me early with your mercy and send me help from your sanctuary, in the name of Jesus!
“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 (KJV)
The ultimate prayer of the Believer must be for the arrival and the manifestation of God’s Kingdom.
When approaching God in prayer, as much as He is Father, we must approach Him with reverence.
The real remedy for any prayer request to manifest, is that we contend for God’s kingdom to come. “Thy kingdom come” must be every Believer’s ultimate prayer and everywhere the will of God is done, His kingdom comes.
Some factors for interpreting the Scriptures:
– The law of first mention. Taking note of the first time a word is used in The Bible and its meaning.
– Reading the Bible literally.
– Prophetic interpretation.
– Placing scriptures side by side and comparing them.
“Give us this day our daily bread” refers to receiving. Daily bread does not necessarily mean bread literally. Jesus issues similes and metaphors to communicate spiritual realities.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread”.
Matthew 6:9-11 (KJV)
“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life”.
2 Corinthians 3:5-6 (KJV)
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work”
2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV)
“And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing”.
Luke 22:35 (KJV)
It is in the destiny of a Believer that you stand and testify that you lack nothing, and that there is a system of supply called “My daily bread”, necessary for your advancement.
There is a daily bread allocated for every Believer in Christ Jesus.
Our daily bread is not just limited to food. Everything that keeps you alive and sustains you, is called “Daily Bread”. Daily bread can be strength and wisdom.
And the allocation of the “bread” is “daily”, not monthly nor weekly. It is in God’s will that we enjoy the benefits of sufficiency, daily.
What is Sufficiency?
1. It is having enough to achieve a goal, and to satisfy a need.
2. It is the capacity to always rise to the occasion, never disappointing.
As far as the integrity of God’s Word is concerned, there is a provision, even before your arrival on earth, that was programmed to be daily.
Knowing how to receive and access your daily bread is paramount for fulfilling your God-given assignment.
Fulfilling your days and God given assignment will require abundant provision of resources, which are not limited to material resources.
Consistency in any area of your life, as far as advancement and impact are concerned, is a product of abundant supply of resources.
There are people who aren’t only marking time and they never lack results. They have mastered the art and act of receiving their daily bread: daily bread in business, daily bread in ministry.
Pray: God, give us this day, our daily bread, in the name of Jesus!
There is a system that always ensures that you are never bankrupt of resources for kingdom advancement. Our sufficiency is not of ourselves, but of God Who has made us.
There are certain levels of influence that God lifts you to, where certain troubles are far from you. Daniel was present in Babylon and yet was exempted from the troubles of the three Hebrew boys.
In the name of Jesus, may my God lift you, so that certain realities and troubles will be far from your life, because you have been marvellously helped by God.
When you find Believers stunted in growth, among the many explanations, is that they have not learnt to receive of their daily bread.
The concept of daily bread was introduced by Jesus. The Father is never tired of hearing our prayer for our daily supply of sufficiency.
Three Characteristics Nature of God that mankind does not share with Him:
1. Omnipresence
2. Omniscience
3. Omnipotence
God’s presence is an innegotiable spiritual resource. There are three dimensions of God’s divine presence:
1. His Omnipresence – His ability to be everywhere, everytime.
(Psalms 139:7)
2. His Emmanuel dimension – His ability to be present with His people.
(Matthew 18:19)
3. His manifested presence – This is also called the Shekinah.
(Exodus 33:15, Acts 10:38)
Two keys that help a man secure the manifest presence of God:
1. The depth of love and passion for God, expressed through consecration and devotion
(John 14:21)
2. Obedience
(Luke 22:35)
Any spirit, regenerated or not, can detect the presence of God on you; drawing people who do not know you, to come to you.
You can copy a man’s sermons, but you cannot copy the presence of God he carries. When you carry the presence of God, you save yourself the pressure of saying something new, because your words will always carry freshness.
As a man of God, a good sermon, no matter how intelligent it is, will fall on people’s deaf ears, if God’s presence is not factored into the sermon.
The more you carry the presence of God, the less noise is made and the louder the impact.
“And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper”.
(2 Chronicles 26:5 KJV)
There are many things you will not look for, if you carry the presence of God. When you seek the presence of God, there are many things that will naturally gravitate to you.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
(Acts 10:38 KJV)
Many people are sincere, but have not stayed with God long enough to carry power.
What is Power?
It is the force that compels compliance; a spiritual resource that empowers you for life’s journey.
Power is not just a ritual; it is a spiritual resource that makes for the fulfillment of the Believer’s journey.
One authentic pathway to experiencing genuine power, is to engage prayer with fasting, with the presence of light (The Word).
Assumption is costly in the journey of destiny. You must obtain grace to seek, obtain and maintain the presence of God, on a daily basis.
There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But a foolish man spendeth it up.
(Proverbs 21:20 KJV)
Every time you find wisdom, there are resources that follow it, because there are treasures to be desired in the house of the wise.
“Do you know the laws of the universe? Can you use them to regulate the earth? “Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain?”
Job 38:33-34 (NLT)
When the Bible says “give us this day our daily bread”, it is pertinent to know the way this brings that resource.
There are laws that control leadership, influence, growth and the sustainance of anything. There is a way to get results. Which do you know?
Two dimensions of knowledge:
1. Spiritual knowledge
2. Knowledge of the laws of the universe. (Laws that regulate life)
The order of your pursuit matters. Your spiritual pursuit must take precedence; you must invest in the things that keep divine presence and power.
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV)
The first way to make your light shine, is to be enlightened through knowledge of The Word. Contend for light and get materials, as the value of a prophetic word is that it comes to a heart opened to and hungry for light.
(Isaiah 60:1 AMP, John 17:3, Hebrews 4:2)
Laws such as the law of honour, the law of leadership, the law of influence, the law that governs the reward system of the kingdom, the law of mental transformation, are all laws designed by God to regulate life.
Your mindset is a prayer warrior making requests. There are things you can call to your life without praying. For example, you can attract failure through fear.
(Job 3:25)
When you act on what you do not understand, you recycle seasons of pain. The progression is knowledge first, then wisdom and then understanding.
Your destiny accelerates at the pace and speed in which helpers arrive. Every vision is driven upon the wings of men.
You are as fortunate as the people who believe you and are willing to stand with you, until God’s vision comes to fruition in your life.
When you pray, don’t just ask for money. Pray for the ministry of men, who will be willing to stand with you!
When God wants to help you, he changes your audience and puts you in the presence of those who have the discernment of what you carry.
Goodwill is as powerful as prophecy; the ability of someone to put in a good word for you can change the trajectory of your life.
In the business of kingdom advancement, number is an advantage. When God wants to help a person, in addition to the gift of Himself to that person, He brings into their life, those who are touched: touched enough to partner with the person and put in their resources for their rising.
In the name of Jesus, may you meet men and women whose hearts have been touched by God, for your sake!
Everything is as hard as the required person, who is absent.
Your helpers know they are sent to you. You do not need to manipulate them, to get them to help you. Why it looks like you are without help is that you are yet to receive your daily bread.
Everything is as hard as who is absent. For example, there are times when the person holding the key to a shop is absent, punishing those who need resources from that shop. Someone’s lateness can affect you.
It was the delay of the bridegroom that categorised the virgins into foolish and wise
(Matthew 25:5-10)
When you find the men sent to you by God, you will be flattered by their level of loyalty to you.
A major part of answers to prayers is people-dependent. Everyone (including satan) respects somebody. When God wants to help you, He makes someone who your helpers respect, speak to them for your help.
Every long standing issue around your life, requiring a man to step in, I cry unto God -Yahweh Sabaoth, may God raise them up tonight, for your sake, in the name of Jesus!
I pray for you, the human resources that must come to your life to advance it: helpers of destiny, quality men, may you encounter them this week in the name of Jesus Christ!
As a man of God, the assignment of helpers is to protect your integrity, and you must pray to God to send these helpers to you, and to your ministry, speedily.
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
(Luke 2:52 KJV)
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
(Matthew 4:19 KJV)
There is something called “the leverage of men”. When Jesus was born, He paid the
price to grow in stature and wisdom. As soon as He was set for ministry, He began to look for men. He started calling them.
No matter how wealthy you are, if you do not have men, you are poor.
The name of Jesus is very heavy, it takes financial resources to lift it HIGH!
If you are not visionary, you don’t need money.
“Give us this day our daily bread” is not for visionless and lazy people.
The life of Jesus holistically captures the four dimensions of requisite resources, for His sufficiency.
He gave to Caesar what was Caeser’s and understood the economy of His time.
(Matthew 22:21)
Refuse to be poor. Make your choice and refuse to never beg to eat while carrying out your assignment.
There are many worries caused by lack of resources, not demons.
Every tenant knows where a house is being sold. The limitation they have, keeping them as renters and not landlords, is resources.
When you give a godly visionary person resources, you will see the power of resources to drive vision.
At a leadership and macro level of God’s programme, you will see the danger and implications of a lack of resources, that leads to a life of servitude.
Our world today, runs upon the strength of economy. The instrument of transaction is largely finance.
As far as your actualising destiny is concerned, you need financial resources. It will take money to build a house, to eat daily and to accomplish a God-given assignment.
Always teach solutions, not problems. Don’t just tell people what is wrong, rather, show them “The Way” to prosper: to take care of their children, to succeed in ministry without compromise, and the way that leads to honour.
Dont just emphasize on what is wrong, but also show what is right. Recommend the path to glory, with proofs.
When Jesus said “Give us this day, our daily bread”, He was making you know that there are resources and that there are laws, that can draw these necessary resources into your life.
The resource of God’s presence and power, the resource of knowledge, wisdom and understanding, human and financial resources can do much for God’s kingdom, telling the nations that Jesus saves, heals and delivers.
There is a lot to be done for the kingdom. In all your getting resources, trust God for finances.
Everyone you see in leadership, ministry and business, scaling heights, they have mastered the art of receiving their daily bread.
Yesterday’s “manna” cannot satisfy today’s hunger and appetite. You must seek for your bread (sufficiency), daily.
You need to carry a level of divine presence, with respect to the level of darkness you need to confront.
Power has levels: the power to heal a headache, is not the same level of power to raise the dead. It takes the power of The Holy Spirit in ever increasing dimensions.
Pray: Lord, give me this day, sufficiency for the journey.
Give me this day, more of Your presence, Your power, Your wisdom, knowledge, the gift of people, access to favour, wisdom and creativity for financial resources in the name of Jesus Christ!
Pray: Lord, give me this day, my daily bread. The needed presence, power, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, the ministry of men and finances to carry out my assignment.
Give me a weighter dimension of your presence. Give me Your power for signs and wonders, extraordinary manifestations of The Spirit.
Give me Your wisdom and understanding at a superior level, commanding exploits in leadership, ministry and business.
Give me the gift of people for the work ahead: Burden bearers, encouragers, divine connectors, gifted people and men and women of influence.
Lord, give to me, the wisdom that produces wealth, the knowledge to transact my value and turn it into wealth in Jesus name!
Pray: Lord, give us this day, our daily bread. It is a gift and I access it by faith, in the name of Jesus!
I receive the grace to be sufficient, so that I abound in every good work!
Four Resources Required for Sufficiency (Daily Bread):
1. Spiritual resources – The first and greatest is called divine presence.
(Exodus 33:13-14, Mark 16:20, Acts 10:38).
The second is Supernatural power.
(Acts 10:38, Psalm 66:3, Acts 1:8, Acts 4:33)
2. Intellectual resources – Knowledge, wisdom and understanding. (Proverbs 24: 3-4 AMP, 21:20, Job 38:33-34 NLT, Ephesians 4:18, John 1:5)
3. Human Resources
(1 Chronicles 12:1, Numbers 1:5)
4. Financial Resources (Matthew 22:21)
Father, I decree and declare over Your people, that they will experience the reality of “Daily Bread”, this week, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Every supply of The Spirit that you have not enjoyed as far as your advancement, impact and living a victorious life is concerned, you begin to enjoy them this week, in the name of Jesus!
You will carry heavier weights of His presence this week, you will carry supernatural power this week, the wisdom of God will function in your life like never before, you will enjoy the gift of men.
In the name of Jesus, this week, you will have amazing encounters with favour; favour that translates to financial resources. Your value will be greatly rewarded this week, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Jesus loves you and desires that you be saved. He died on the cross for us and through His death, we have access to eternal life.
Say this prayer of salvation with faith in your heart, to accept Jesus as your Saviour.
If you received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour tonight, we would love to read from you and become a part of your Christian journey.
