New Wine Skins (Disruptions And Realignments) by Apostle Selman
Lift your hands to God and thank Him for this atmosphere of worship.
Every part of the Koinonia service counts and is designed to help you become a dexterous Believer.
Tonight, shout out to God with a loud voice of triumph. Lift your hands and give Him praise for this atmosphere of worship.
God is here in our midst to transform and to deliver. Turn your expectations into faith.
Pray: Father, give us great encounters, tonight! Cause us to rise to greater heights, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Every part of the Koinonia service is deliberately assembled to damage doubt and plant faith in our hearts.
God has a prophetic calendar for the nations. He’s always doing something per time.
The assignment of the Believer is to stay until God makes you as He has ordained.
The assignment of the Word of God is to build us up. The Word is meant to mould, grow, and fortify us.
“Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.”
Matthew 9:14-17 (KJV)
The actualization of God’s program on earth depends on a God-man partnership. It doesn’t depend absolutely on God.
The manifestation of every prophetic program on earth will always be dependent on a “God-man” partnership.
The biggest delay to the move of God or the territorial dominion of the church is the kind and quality of available vessels.
Many factors can affect the manifestation of God’s program: ignorance, demonic activities, curses, and yokes, among others, but the biggest factor is the kind and quality of vessels to be used by God to birth His purposes.
Many factors can interrupt the move of God and delay the manifestation of His purposes in our lives. But one of the most critical often greater than demons, curses, yokes, or evil spirits—is the kind and quality of vessels available for God to use.
More than any external resistance, the greatest limitation to God’s move is not the presence of evil, but the readiness and alignment of His vessels.
Other hindrances include:
* Ignorance
* Demonic influence
* Curses and yokes
* Evil spirits
Yet, above all these, the greatest disruption is the inadequacy or unavailability of yielded, prepared vessels. The move of God is never at the mercy of darkness, it is at the mercy of vessels.
The word “Wineskin” is a metaphor that connotes structure, ideology, perspectives, and an approach (a way of doing things).
It also connotes an orientation.
Every religion has a very defined pathway of viewing the world; this is called a world-view; it trains you to see the world in a certain way, and it also informs the behavior of the practitioners of those religions.
Wineskins, according to Matthew 9:17, refers to structures, ideologies, perspectives, and orientations that interfere with the birthing of God’s program.
Many people’s failures can be traced back to their world-view (how they were taught to see life). This mindset becomes so deeply ingrained that it renders meaningful change almost impossible.
Most religions offer a clearly defined way of viewing the world. They shape how their followers perceive reality, and this worldview influences how they live. Interestingly, these perspectives often help practitioners lead successful lives on earth—even if their success operates primarily through the agency of the flesh.
However, it is disheartening to observe that Christianity appears to have one of the most fragmented worldviews. On many subjects, followers of other religions often interpret matters through a shared lens. In contrast, if you ask a group of average Christians about the same topic, you’ll likely receive a wide range of differing opinions.
Many terminologies of the Christian faith have become more subjected to personal revelations rather than anchored in sound doctrine and scriptural consistency. As a result, what should be universally understood within the body of Christ is now filtered through individual experiences, emotions, or encounters—leading to confusion, contradiction, and division among Believers.
No Believer can be victorious unless God helps us to align our world-view with Scripture.
In essence, our beliefs should flow from divine revelation; an understanding grounded in Scripture.
Different teachings and sermons have engineered the different ways Believers think on particular subjects, gradually shaping interpretations that are no longer rooted in the shared truth of The Word of God. This, in turn, has brought about subtle, yet deep divisions within the Body of Christ.
Believers cannot become fully victorious, if God doesn’t help us to unify our belief in the body of Christ.
One of the ways to align your world-view with the scriptural lens without personal bias or pulpit sentiment is to ask yourself: “What do I believe? and Why do I believe what I believe?”
The church, especially in Africa has largely shaped a poisonous worldview instead of promoting societal growth.
Praying shouldn’t be used to spiritualize your fears.
The Christian faith needs to return to the drawing board and re-examine our worldview so that certain errors don’t lead to total failure in life.
Our theology in the Christian faith has largely produced an irresponsible breed of Christians.
The Christian faith needs to get back to the drawing board and re-examine what our worldview is versus the truth.
The Christian faith needs to return to the drawing board and re-examine our worldview so that certain errors don’t lead to total failure in life.
There are many people suffering today courtesy of the ignorance from the pulpit.
Many people were destined for greatness but were limited by teachings from the pulpit. This contributed to an aberrant worldview that led to different limitations in their lives.
False prophecy is bad, but false teaching is worse.
You cannot put new wine in an old wineskin.
The non-availability of quality vessels has actually tampered with the program of God on Earth.
There needs to be a thorough re-editing of the content used to serve God’s people, week in and week out. This is what makes for victorious Believers.
Many teachings and sermons preached on the pulpits are direct products of fear, lack of transformation, insecurity, and jealousy.
The content used to bless God’s people must be re-edited, to make champions out of the Believers.
The goal isn’t to discredit the Church, but to awaken you to the reality that there’s a flaw in the way many Believers see the world.
God did not intend for the teachings of any one man of God in the body of Christ to provide the complete victory for the Believer. He has distributed wisdom among others so that we might depend on one another and be united.
Many things we blame on demon spirits are a direct product of our lack of knowledge.
The inability to understand God’s ways and the inability to reorient our worldview has had profound consequences.
As Believers, many of the things we attribute to demon spirits are actually products of our lack of knowledge.
Too often, people respond to whatever comes from the pulpit with “Amen,” and sometimes, that reflects ignorance.
The faith-life does not take away your brain!
It’s not only our sin and unrighteousness that brings dishonor to priesthood but our refusal to understand God’s way and the maturity to renew or improve our worldview in alignment with the truth of God’s Word.
There is a ‘New Wine’ that is coming to the Body of Christ, and God will intentionally disrupt the status quo, in the name of Jesus Christ!
My deepest prayer as a man of God is never to misuse the sacred privilege God has given me; to never lead a generation into failure through the very messages meant to give them life.
My greatest prayer as a man of God is that a generation does not perish because they listened to my messages.
Enjoying the best of God and walking in dominion demands that you build a spiritual and mental structure that is wholesome and formidable enough to receive what God is releasing.
One of the main reasons we fail to see God’s move, or why the church has no territorial dominion, is a wineskin problem: many want new wine without changing the wineskin.
One of the major problems preventing us from seeing the power of God and experiencing territorial dominion is that we have a significant wineskin problem. Our prayers and fasting focus more on the new wine, rather than on preparing the wineskin.
Our prayers and desires have largely been towards the new anointing and the new manifestation of prophecies with less emphasis on the condition of the wineskin.
If the wineskin (mentality, perspective, engineering of your mind) is bad, small, perforated, or inferior, God will have to delay the release of the new wine.
God is looking for men (and women) not necessarily apostles, revivalists, or preachers, but those who are sufficiently yielded and willing to trade the old wineskin for a new, superior one.
The vessels that will host the move of God have not been taught about the mental programming to host that possibility.
If the wineskin is bad, small, perforated, or inferior, God will have to delay the release of the new wine.
As Believers, we mostly focus on our spirituality (which is great but only a part of the equation). However, something about our mentality and thinking is yet to submit to the Lordship of Christ.
Oftentimes, the mental component of carrying the glory has not yet been fully programmed in Believers. Something about our worldview and belief system as Believers is causing an obstruction to the program of God on earth.
God is looking for men and women who are yielded enough and willing to trade the old wineskin for a new superior wineskin.
The path of dishonour cannot birth the glory of God. Nobody wins following the path of dishonour. We have to love God’s program more than our worldviews.
WHAT THE NEW WINESKIN IS NOT:
The new wine skin is not a campaign for:
1. Pride
A false belief that you alone know what God is doing, and thereby looking down on everyone else.
2. Dishonour
Refusing to settle in and understand God’s ways, displaying immaturity out of misplaced respect for certain people, while insulting other fathers of faith whose beliefs differ. Nobody benefits from dishonouring parents, contemporaries, or those in authority.
3. Self-Righteousness
Assuming everyone else is a sinner except yourself, a posture that inevitably leads to failure.
4. Hatred among Believers
5. Carnality
Young people have a growing hatred for anything spiritual. Whether you like it or not, God’s standards are defined and don’t change.
6. Universalism (John 17:3)
The belief that “It doesn’t matter what god we serve; let’s just come together, we’re all one” is misleading. We are not all one. Our beliefs must be rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus Christ.
7. Overemphasis on Intellect.
The standard of God has a defined jurisdiction.
The first assignment of a young man is to keep his way righteous and pure before God.
We should not pamper our children and youth to embrace carnality in an attempt to be contemporary.
Many haven’t compromised—not because it’s not possible—but simply because the opportunity and atmosphere have not yet presented themselves.
Resistance to temptation, sometimes, is often a reflection that you haven’t yet risen to a level or horizon in life that makes you truly vulnerable to compromise.
Run away from the mentality of self-righteousness that makes you think you overcome temptation by your own strength, thereby judging others who are struggling in sin.

Men of God must desist from the supervisor mentality. We are all students and servants in God’s vineyard.
If you have been granted the grace to be an exceptional student, help others but remember we are students, and we all have exams to write in the realm of the spirit.
As Intercessors in the Body of Christ, it’s important to pray more for men and women of God because often times, the errors in members usually come from the pulpit based on their trust or honour for the minister of God.
THREE KEYS THAT CAN HELP YOU TRANSIT FROM OLD WINESKIN TO NEW WINESKIN:
1. Recognize that even at our best, we’re limited in knowledge and perspective. (1 Corinthians 8:2, 1 Corinthians 13:9)
It takes humility and meekness to admit our limitations and learn more.
2. We must carefully examine the teachings and perspectives that we hear (Examine things from Scripture first before embracing them or discarding them). (Acts 17:10-12)
It is important to learn to search the Scriptures without sentiment. Do not confuse Scripture with mere intellect or literature. Be a Berean Christian, one who is discerning, not judgmental.
3. If we desire to truly grow, we must put away sentiments and biases that come from people we love and contend for superior light.
We must recognize that even at our best, we can still be limited in our knowledge and perspective. This requires us to remain humble and meek always.
We must be careful to examine the teachings, views and perspectives that we hear, before embracing or discarding them.
The Body of Christ must be comfortable to admit that no ministry has everything. This is why God has distributed graces to different ministries, so that the Believer can become a wholesome picture of the will of God.
It is important to learn to search the Scriptures without sentiment. Do not confuse Scripture with mere intellect or literature.
Be a Berean Christian, one who is discerning and carefully examines what is taught from Scripture. Berean Christians are not judgmental.
As a Believer, you can challenge doctrines with love and respect, but it is wrong to tear down preachers because of a wrong teaching. Tearing down preachers is a sign of insecurity.
As a Believer, do not use social media to tear down preachers.
Preachers are human and, like professionals in any other field, they can be flawed. Learn to forgive preachers, as long as their motives are sincere.
Instead of criticizing and tearing others down, focus on growing; be a student of Scripture who researches with humility, not from a critical standpoint.
Use your time for something more meaningful, something that brings glory to the name of God.
Honor men and women of God, but never let loyalty come at the detriment of your spiritual growth. Even as you journey into deeper revelations elsewhere, maintain a posture of honor toward those who once guided you.
Caution: Attacking preachers is proof of insecurity. Do not listen to such attacks.
Be a Berean Christian; it doesn’t matter who you hear from. Approach it not from a critical standpoint, but diligently search the Scriptures. When you discover that a preacher, like all of us, is limited, forgive those limitations, look beyond his frailty, and extend grace to them.
The Body of Christ must attain a level of maturity, pressing for superior light.
Respect any man or woman of God you see. However, this should never come at the detriment of your spiritual growth. Don’t be so loyal that your spiritual leader’s voice is carved in stone, especially if it hinders your spiritual development. A wise leader is secure enough to tell his people, “I don’t know everything.”
Believers must learn to love God’s purposes more than their reputation.
Everyone has an allocation in God’s prophetic agenda. Respecting that allocation is what brings about the collective manifestation.
In one minute, pray for the Body of Christ across the globe. Mention preachers you know, asking God for mercy on their behalf.
Pray: Father, have mercy on the Body of Christ. The Body has been a victim of inconsistencies, Lord, have mercy, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Pray: Father, every spirit of pride, hatred, immaturity, and all kinds of plagues that has stopped the growth and unity in the Church across the globe, Father show us mercy, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Pray for those who are still standing strong in the faith, ask God to help them keep blazing the fire of revival.
Pray for those who have gone down, ask God to show them mercy, thereby bringing them up again!
Pray: Father, let fresh fire rest upon every Church, every preacher, and every pulpit across the globe, in Africa and Nigeria, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Genuinely pray for churches in Nigeria, Africa and across the globe; churches genuinely serving the purposes of God. Mention the names of the churches as you pray, or pray for churches generally.
Pray: Father, let fresh fire come upon those pulpits, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Pray: Lord, let the spirit of anger and hatred leave the Body of Christ, in Jesus mighty name!
Pray: Father, help Koinonia to remain at the cutting edge of Your prophetic program. Let everything that represents an old wineskin in Koinonia be replaced with a new wineskin that will host greater levels of your glory, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Pray for Koinonia: Declare that we’ll be at the cutting edge of God’s program.
Declare that we’ll be a succour to God’s people for His agenda. We’ll be helped by God.
We’ll be malleable and teachable, unhesitating in putting on new wineskins, in Jesus Christ’s name!
Pray: Lord, help Koinonia! We declare a new wineskin and a new mentality that supports greater levels of the anointing, in Jesus Christ’s name!
