I Shall Not Want by Apostle Joshua Selman
Bless the name of The Lord and ask Him to give you a definite encounter, tonight.
“But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
It is important that as you come to God, you come with an open heart, ready to receive.
The teaching of The Word, the worship experience and impartation bring you into experiencing the character of God.
Pray Lord, as Your Word comes forth tonight, let it come with power and let me not only be a hearer but also a doer of Your Word.
As a Believer, if you’re limited economically, your dignity and every other part of your life will suffer and the purposes of God concerning your life will be limited.
It is the responsibility of the church to build Believers holistically, first laying emphasis on spiritual growth.
But in addition, it is important that Believers be taught the whole counsel of God, that includes helping them to excel in all facets of life.
One of the potent forces satan is using to attack people in today’s world is financial hardship.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
There is an attack upon Believers that we are ignorant of, and until we wake up with a sense of responsibility and discernment, the enemy will continue to devour. We must be sober and vigilant
Prophesy: I shall not want, in the name of Jesus!
Financial Prosperity in God’s Kingdom is a combination and an interplay of the following:
1. Laws and Principles.
2. Human Factors (A major determining factor and the reason why the financial prosperity journey seems hard).
3. Divine Empowerment.
4. The Help of God.
Approaching your financial journey with a focus on what to do rather than what you have will likely lead to loss eventually.
There are many Believers who are fighting a mental battle, as to whether or not God intends for them to prosper.
It is inconsistent with the nature and ways of God, for Believers to experience financial hardship.
Devoted Believers, who cherish their relationship with Jesus, strive to remain within the will of God. Understanding that prosperity aligns with God’s plan is essential for them.
In Scriptures, every time people disobeyed God and violated His ordinances, they faced economic affliction.
Every time God restored people, among the many things He did, was to restore them financially.
The problems that poor people have, can usually be solved by money.
However, the realm of wealth has its own problems that only God can solve and for most wealthy people, one of their major problems is succession. The devil ensured their children embarked on a path of foolishness.
There is a void in every man that going on vacations, acquiring properties and lavish spendings cannot fill.
Only God can fill that void; He is called The Prince of Peace.
The starting point of every financial journey is an awareness of the following:
1. It is the will of God for you to prosper.
(Proverbs 10:22, Deuteronomy 8:18, Psalm 35:27, 1 Timothy 6:17)
2. Financial prosperity is one of the blessings that come with LOVING and SERVING God.
(Psalm 103:2, Job 36:11)
3. You can have abundant financial resources without knowing or loving The Lord, but the peace and fulfilment that come with these resources, ONLY come from God.
(Proverbs 10:22, John 14:27 KJV))
4. Wealth and abundance is a function of laws, human factors, divine empowerment and the help of God.
5. God does not decide who becomes wealthy or who remains poor.
(Deuteronomy 30:15-20, Proverbs 22:2)
6. Kingdom Wealth is not just about being a millionaire or billionaire, but it is about having supplies that empower you, meet your needs, support the kingdom and bless your world.
Many die before their time, because the degree of wealth accumulated, holds no purpose towards kingdom advancement, becoming a blessing to their world nor satisfying their needs.
As a believer, what matters to God is your commitment to principles through diligence, thereby acquiring resources that not only enhance your life but also bring value to your world and contribute to actualizing the programme of God.
Within the boundary of a decent and modest life, as far as effective living is concerned, you do not need as much money, as you think you do.
Bragging that you are a millionaire, holds no Kingdom value. Rather, what is valuable is that you have become an active contributor to the advancement of God’s end-time agenda.
It takes more than having a good heart to be a blessing to others. It must translate from your heart to your hands, and then to your world.
To all young and working-class people, calling yourself “Hustler”, does not depict God’s idea of Kingdom wealth.
Calling yourself “Light and Salt” translates your mentality from carnality to purpose.
Isaiah 8:20, Ecclesiastes 10:15 KJV
In order of divine happenings, things happen first in the realm of the spirit and then manifest physically.
(Genesis 1:26-28)
In approaching the subject of wealth and riches, the proper foundation is laid by understanding the role of the realm of the spirit.
Most people experience highs and lows financially, because their wealth is solely economic, lacking spiritual roots.
Everything we witness today originated from the realm of the spirit (Hebrews 11:3).
Adherence to spiritual laws, as priority, lays the foundation for understanding how money works.
In God’s economy, the state of your heart holds paramount importance above all other factors.
If you do not give and give consistently, God will not hate you, however, you will assuredly be poor, because the ordinances of God do not bend to your desires.
Also, if you are an occasional giver, you will only have occasional supplies.
One reason God encourages believers to give is to overcome idolatry. Your refusal to give is a sign that you believe the item you can’t let go of is above God in your life.
Giving is living and a covenant responsibility for all Believers.
Through giving, the prayers of people who you give to can build an immunity against the waster and the devourer in your life.
Every instruction God gives the Saints is not for His benefit, rather for theirs.
Many give foolishly and many give blindly. What makes your giving powerful, is the revelation behind the action.
Responsible Christianity builds and trains Believers to give from a standpoint of love and joy.
Giving is an attitude, and not necessarily the availability of resources.
Value is a measure of your usefulness to a person, people and a community. It is your ability to provide solutions that are needed and that are useful.
Your refusal to give proves that you don’t trust God.
In God’s kingdom, we rise by sacrifice.
When you walk alone by consuming your resources alone, you will be slow in life, but when you walk with God, following His ordinances of giving and sacrifice, you will fly.
The spiritual root or foundational aspect is the vital secret to wealth and abundance. So if God, The Father of all spirits, does not assist you, you are only gathering to scatter
In the kingdom of God, the way you go upwards is to give upwards.
If and when you are not valuable, you are either going to be or remain poor.
You know you are valuable by who is following you and willing to pay for what you can do.
Productivity is the act of packaging and refining your value and converting it into usable and consumable products and services.
If God gives you an opportunity to do something through a contract, hand it over to a competent person where you’re lacking the competence and you preserve your name.
A good name surpasses gold and silver. That good name will recycle the opportunity.
Loving Jesus is not a curse and it doesn’t mean suspending common sense. Engage excellence in all your endeavours.
Every time you’re called when kings are around, it’s because you’re excellent.
Who likes you, can redefine your financial destiny. Who hates you does not matter.
(Proverbs 13:20)
When you relate with people well, they invite you into their world and into their space. In this phase, it is important for you to know whether you’re an ‘Abraham’ or a ‘Lot’.
(Genesis 12:2-4, 13:1-5)
Ingratitude will destroy great opportunities from your life. It is vital to acknowledge the contributions of certain individuals in your life.
The easiest way to prosper is through relationships.
An easy way to financial prosperity is through human connections.
Life will be as difficult as the relationships that are missing in your life. Relationships were designed to close gaps.
How to Maximise Relationships
1. Pray that God brings good people your way.
2. Be a person of character.
You have an advantage when walking with great people if you possess the ability to make them feel at ease by knowing how to manage information.
When people grant you access to greatness, never get too familiar; protect and preserve it.
There is a protocol to relationships. Never abuse relationships. Be protective of relationships that you value.
Declare: In the name of Jesus, I obtain grace to keep and to protect relationships.
HOW WEALTH WORKS:
1. Your Spiritual Root/Foundation that encompasses these spiritual laws:
i. The Law of Absolute Surrender. Proverbs 23:26
ii. The Law of The Tithe. Psalm 89:34
iii. The Law of Giving
2. The Law of Value Luke 6:38 KJV
3. The Law of Productivity
4. The Law of Excellence (Proverbs 22:29)
5. The Law of Relationships (Proverbs 13:20, Genesis 12:2-4, 13:1-5)
6. Understanding Investments. (Ecclesiastes 11:2)
The only way money grows and multiplies is through investments.
You must learn and master investments if you want to be wealthy.
A Believer who does not know how to invest will not be able to sustain wealth.
Never part with your money until you fully understand what you’re investing in.
In managing your finances, it is important to live a modest and decent life, within your means.
A fake life is very expensive; it takes a lot to fund it.
“I shall not want” is not just a prophetic declaration. It is a declaration that comes with responsibility.
When God’s faithfulness is manifested to you financially, your next project is to settle down and to learn everything about investments.
TYPES OF INVESTMENTS NECESSARY FOR BELIEVERS
1. Spiritual Investments
2. Mental Investments
3. Health/Wellbeing Investments
4. Relationship Investments
Pray: Father, in light of all I have heard, cause me to walk in these truths and let the power to prosper rest on me, in Jesus’ name!
