EBENEZER (When God Helps Men) by Apostle Selman

Lift up your voice and bless the name of The Lord. Thank Him for all He has done and continues to do.
Ask God to reveal Himself again to you tonight. Ask that He opens your eyes to see, recognizing that He is here in our midst.

Pray in the Spirit, connecting your heart to what God is doing.
Take a few minutes and express your heart to The Father; press in the spirit in this atmosphere of worship.

Everytime God decides to move in a certain way, you need to be able to discern His actions and intentions.

It is important to know how God answers prayers. As different as our faces are, so are our needs.
With God, for the sake of one person, He can decide to do great and mighty things, making others beneficiaries, by extension.

“And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26‬:‭15‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)

“And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26‬:‭5‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)

The word “Ebenezer” comes from the Hebrew expression: “The Stone of Help”, as declared by the Prophet Samuel in the Bible.

What does it mean to “Help”?

1. Help means to give assistance or support.
2. Help means to make it easier or possible for someone to achieve a goal by offering services or resources.

What is The Goal Behind Help?
The goal is to make any task or desire possible, achievable, and as easy as possible

In God’s kingdom, our prayer is governed by intelligence or understanding. Faith connects to an idea that is defined; the clearer your goals and requests, the more you connect to the requisite faith that makes for answered prayers.

Our success in life and destiny is directly proportional to the help we receive.

I pray for you, that even before the year ends, the help required and needed to make it in life and destiny, in the name of Jesus, may it gravitate towards you!

The difference between a champion and a mediocre, increase and decline is the “help” factor.
When God helps a man, the difference in outcomes become unmistakable.

God can help men, and He desires to do so.
Scattered throughout Scripture are stories of men and women helped by God—Abraham, Joseph, Gideon, Samson, Ruth, and Naomi. The latter parts of their lives were better as a result.

Declare: My help comes from The Lord!

I pray for you, whatever you have worked on, that is ready for the world to see, except that there is no help, in the name of Jesus, may The God of my covenant send help SPEEDILY

All men, unassisted by the help of God, by default are limited in knowledge, managing their emotions and even in their capacity to push further in life and destiny.

Humans do not have the capacity to lead themselves, using only the lens of instincts and intelligence.
You can find a pathway to life and destiny, but it takes skill to pass through the paths of life without getting hurt.

The moment you realize that you’re limited and you need and engage the help of God, you will overcome many unfavourable seasons of life.

I pray for you, where you are going ahead of God, and God is at the back, may God reverse you to meet His pace.
And where God is ahead and you are lagging behind, in the name of Jesus, I push you by prophecy to catch up with where God currently is!

There are times that things befall you in life, despite the safety nets you put in place. Such fails, are simply for the very fact that you are human. (Psalm 61:1-2)
Man, even at his best, is still limited!

I pray for you, when your heart is overwhelmed, may God lead you to The Rock that is higher than you!

The Law of Diligence states that when you are diligent, you should make it in life and destiny.
However that law is only true when there is no stereotyping, and when people’s hearts are pure towards you.
Things work as intended only under normal circumstances, but humans often disrupt those circumstances.

Joseph’s life was a true example of human factors altering the outcome of one’s life, but for the help of God!
According to Scriptures, Joseph feared God sincerely and yet landed in prison.

Jesus had integrity, compassion and utilized excellent leadership, yet the very people he taught and helped shouted “crucify Him”.

Why We Need God’s Help:

1. All men, even at their best, are limited.
(Psalm 103:14-15, Jeremiah 10:23)
2. Human factors can negatively alter and adversely affect the results that should come from correctly engaging laws and principles.
3. The reality of satan and demonic forces, alongside their determination to fight our peace and advancement necessitates help.

Points To Note:
1. Every person succeeds in life and destiny, to the degree to which they find help.
2. God helps mankind. (Psalm 121:1-2, 20:1, Luke 1:53-54)

What does it mean to show Mercy?

1. Mercy means compassionate treatment of those in need or those in distress.
2. Mercy means refraining from harming or punishing offenders.
3. Mercy extends to showing care and providing succour or relief.
4. Mercy is a fruit or byproduct of compassion.

…In the name of Jesus, whether for you or for your family, may every accusation in the realm of the spirit that wants to empower judgement upon you, I decree and declare that a standard of mercy rises in your favour.

The foundation for mercy is compassion. You cannot show mercy unless you’re compassionate.

What does it mean to show Compassion?
Compassion means to show concern for the sufferings and misfortune of others.

When you walk with God, one of the virtues you partake in is His compassion for mankind.

If you truly grow in Christ Jesus, you must at some point taste of His compassion and express same towards others.

I pray for you, where you have been overcome by wicked people with a heart of stone, may God replace them with compassionate people.

Mercy is an action word. It is the action you take when you have compassion on someone.

When you witness the extent of God’s mercy in your life, it demands praise.
When you reflect on your own frailty, you are compelled to recognize the visible hand of God at work in your life.
When you think deeply, you are moved to give thanks.

In this kingdom, the higher you rise, the higher you should hold on to the mercy of God.
When everything fails, it is the key of mercy that opens the door for you.

The prayer of mercy is not only for sinners.
It is for every Believer, recognising that with your little faith, your little consecration, your little obedience, with a sincerity of heart, you still ask God for mercy.
God then adds to the equation, bringing undeserved results, for all to see.

When you understand the mercy of God, you are more patient with people. When they behave in a way that is inexplicable, it should remind you of yourself before God, and how despite your misdemeanors, God consistently shows you compassion. (Lamentations 3:22)

How God helps humanity:

1. By showing mercy.
(Lamentations 3:22)
2. Through the Ministry of Relationships.
(Romans 16:1-4)

Everything that happens on earth is people-dependent.
Humans are very important and when you ignore them, you ignore an essential factor for your rising in life.

Both God and satan require the operations of mankind to make their programmes on earth come to fruition.

Destiny fulfillment is impossible without relationships and it matters greatly that you understand how to relate with people.

We as humans are relational beings, and relationships are bridges to an exceptional life.
They can also be bridges to a life of pain and regret.

Relationships are currencies. They can buy what money can buy. Infact, money has value because of relationships.

Scripturally, and from the lives of exemplary men and women, the easiest way to navigate life is through relationships.

In the mighty name of Jesus, where relationships are needed in your life, ministry, family, finances as a bridge to your growth and rising, I prophesy into your life, before 31st of December, may God bring them to your life, home, finances and business!

I pray for you, for people who can risk their lives, resources and reputation, may such people show up in your life, in the name of Jesus!

How God helps people:

1. By showing mercy.
(Lamentations 3:22)
2. Through the Ministry of Relationships.
(Romans 16:1-4)
3. Through the ministry of The Holy Spirit.
(Psalm 18:29, Zachariah 4:6, Romans 8:26)

The Holy Spirit reveals the mind and will of God, providing guidance, direction, and empowerment, first within, and then by placing a grace upon you to become an effective witness.

Fight pride like a cancer patient fights cancer. Pride is cancer to the soul of man.

Learn to be humble before God. Even if you do not know too many kingdom principles, practising humility can take you far in life.
Being humble is likened to fueling the nerves that lead to your progress.

People can call you great; let them clap for you, but always remember to tremble before The Lord and acknowledge Him as The Doer of all that people see in your life

I pray for you, when people see your exceptional results, may they also see an extremely humble Believer.

For people who maintain a posture of humility, laced with gratitude, usually, it is difficult to stop helping such people.
Because of their disposition, it is like they have secured a debt from you to them.

Pride makes beautiful things shrink; it is a depleter of grace and a divider of honour.
Every time God finds pride, He will fight you, and your only redemption is the prayer of mercy.

Place your hand on your chest as a prophetic contact and pray:
Father, everything that looks like pride in my life and heart, secretly waiting for manifestation, let it die tonight, in the name of Jesus.

There are certain realities that work on a call and response system.
(Jeremiah 33:3, Psalm 120:1)
Everytime you find yourself in need of help, pray like Nebuchadnezzar, Jonah, David and even Jesus prayed.

“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; The name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion;”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭20‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)

When life overwhelms and fails you and all is gone, take the Psalms (51) and pray with understanding.
When you get to the point where you acknowledge that there is no one else to help you, it is at this point you will begin to see the help and jealousy of God.

For as long as you’re alive, days will come when you will be faced with situations, where your intelligence and prayers will not suffice.
It is from the archives of your prayer for mercy you will have to draw from. Learn the cry of mercy early so that when the situations of life become a reality, you can cry before Your Maker

How To Activate The Help of God:

1. Maintain a posture of brokenness and humility before The Lord.
(Philippians 2:5-6)
2. Pray the prayer of mercy and help.
(Daniel 4:34-37, Jeremiah 33:3, Psalm 120:1, 20:1-2, Jonah 2:1-7)
3. Sow seeds of help, because help is a harvest.
(Galatians 6:7, Matthew 5:7)

I pray for you, every inherited battle and harvest of pain that came as a result of the carelessness of those that came before you, may the mercy of God cancel such a harvest, in the name of Jesus!
Every harvest waiting for you and your children from mistakes that you made, may God cancel it now, in the name of Jesus!

Scatter kindness all around like seeds, because you don’t know which of the seeds will yield fruit.

Sow seeds of help. Life is too dynamic to be selfish. Give multiple portions to multiple people around you and even to strangers. (Ecclesiastes 11:2,6)

Help is not always about money; it can sometimes be a shoulder for others to lean on.

I pray for you, may your name never be a padlock. May you not close doors against yourself and others.

How to Respond to The Help of God:

1. You respond with thanksgiving.
(Psalm 136:1-5)
2. You testify of His goodness before His people.
(Psalm 22:22, John 4:28)
3. Use every blessing that comes by God’s help for His glory.

Never trivialise the help of God when you see it, no matter how small it is.

It matters that you testify of God’s goodness before His people, so that they can see His goodness.

If God grants you promotion, opens doors and brings you to strange financial blessings, those blessings must be for His glory.

Something happens to mankind, when they forget God.
God doesn’t hate us but His mercy is withheld from those who forget Him.

I declare The Lord bless you,
From Monday up until Sunday,
Receive help every day!
Receive help in the morning,
Receive help in the afternoon,
Receive help at night,
Receive help all day!

Receive help from strangers,
Receive help from family
Receive help from your workplace,
Angelic interventions this week, in the name of Jesus

May God visit you by His power, in the name of Jesus,
No weapon fashioned against you will prosper.

From Sunday to the next Sunday, let it be laughter!
From Sunday to the next Sunday, let it be increase!
From Sunday to the next Sunday, let it be advancement!

No preceding day will be better than the one coming, in the name of Jesus!
From glory to glory, grace to grace, power to power!

I place a mark of honour upon your head,
Let everyone who sees you honour you!
For your shame receive double!
For disappointment, receive increase!

For someone, I announce to you, good news arrives this week!
Good news that causes you to dance!
Good news that causes you to leap for joy!
You will not hear it alone,
All who are around you will receive good news also, in the name of Jesus!

Nothing will cut short your life!
You are protected and preserved, in Jesus mighty name we pray!

Genuine peace and fulfillment flows from an encounter with your Creator. Jesus Christ is reaching out to you right now, He wants to give you a new beginning, regardless of your past or current situation.
Take the bold step of faith to begin the journey of salvation by saying ‘yes’ to Him. With faith in your heart, declare this prayer of salvation to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

If you have made the honourable decision to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior tonight, we are eager to receive your testimony and be a part of your Christian journey.
